Foss Releases the ultra light 700c tube
We have all heard about how good a latex tube rides, the high elasticity of the latex also adds to its superior puncture protection. Run a latex tube with a good quality clincher and you get close to the feel of a tubular. Tests have also shown that latex tubes provide less rolling resistance, which is a result of the high elasticity of the latex being able to conform to road imperfections, dispersing less energy. Latex tubes are far more porous than butyl, that is why we need to keep a close eye on the pressures before every ride and they cannot be patched or repaired.
Latex and butyl are so passé.
Foss EFT is lighter than the current offerings of latex tubes, FOSS Environmentally Friendly Tubes are on average 30% lighter than butyl tube offerings. At 62 grams this is one of the lightest tubes available, but zero loss in durability. Foss EFT is explosion proof - A standard butyl tube will explode under high pressure with a large sized puncture - resulting in a sudden loss of air pressure, the FOSS EFT will not explode, the unique material will remain stable if punctured and will seal, usually air tight around the puncturing object.
Foss EFT offers a ride quality and suppleness that is equal to high-end latex tubes, but still maintains a highly stable feel at lower pressures. Foss EFT holds air pressure far better than a latex tube.
The EFT's are 100% repairable. Foss EFT is super easy to repair, you can opt for a cigarette lighter and seal the hole (kids, don't burn yourself) - or once you are back home whip out the Foss EFT repair pliers and repair micro sized holes with absolute precision, the Foss Pliers are not just limited to small holes, they can easily repair large holes and tears with precision, all without a loss of performance or air retaining ability.
The EFT is recyclable, FOSS EFT is an unvulcanized rubber which can be recycled with other thermoplastic rubbers - Are you doing your part to help out our crumbling planet?
